Alexander Palace Egg

Alexander Palace was one of the summer palaces of the Czars. On the exterior of the Egg, Alexander Palace rises from the mist. The Palace has been hand enamelled on fine lead crystal, The Imperial crown surmounts the creation, set with a cabochon ruby; the base is ornamentally turned on Theo’s 1861 Holtzapffel lathe. On the reverse of the egg, looking beyond the lake, the surprise is the cypher of Alexander.
