An invitation to the Firebird Restaurant for Theo’s 80th birthday inspired the Firebird Egg design. The Egg created in solid silver, gold and red enamel, is with an Imperial Crown finial offset with a ruby.

There are stylised feathers and apple blossom from the firebird story. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Faberge’s Holtzapffel Lathe dating from 1860.

On opening the Egg the surprise, the firebird, can be removed. A further surprise, a tiny pair of ballet shoes from the fairy tale.
