Firebird Egg

An invitation to the Firebird Restaurant for Theo’s 80th birthday inspired the Firebird Egg design. The Egg, created in solid silver, gold and red enamel, is topped with an Imperial Crown finial offset with a ruby.
Stylised feathers and apple blossom from the firebird story adorn the egg. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Faberge’s Holtzapffel Lathe dating from 1860.
Upon opening the egg, the surprise- the firebird- can be removed. A further surprise: a tiny pair of ballet shoes from the fairy tale.
