This Passion Creation carries on THEO FABERGÉ’s imagination of surprises.

The finial to the top of the Egg was personally designed by THEO FABERGÉ for his very first Creation for the Collection in 1985. The finial is topped with a cabochon ruby. Ruby being Theo’s favourite gemstone. Beneath the finial is a starburst design which is used on many of Theo’s Creations.

Hanging from the starburst design are 8 wreath design drops which Theo used on his Collection of guilloché enamelled picture frames amongst others. The number 8 may give a clue to the meaning of this Passion Creation. 8 being a lucky number as it also denotes wealth and good luck. The 8 wreath drops are surmounted with 8 sparkling diamonds.

On opening the Egg, the surprise is revealed – a working roulette wheel. The roulette wheel is set with 18 rubies, 18 diamonds and 2 emeralds. The roulette wheel can be lifted out and spun to see whether you have chosen the winning number. The ball for the roulette wheel is a cabochon ruby.
