A hand-painted cerulean blue porcelain Egg is mounted on a vermeil pedestal originally turned on Theo Fabergé’s Holtzapffel lathe and set with some 250 precious stones. Exquisite raised motifs illustrate the passing of time and the sunrise. A fountain of light crowns the final. On opening, the surprise: a glittering fountain of aquamarines rises from the midst of sculpted heraldic dolphins.
